John Koehler Obituary, Wichita KS Resident Has Sadly Passed Away: It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John Koehler, a beloved resident of Wichita, Kansas. John passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family. John was born on February 18, 1952, in Wichita, where he spent most of his life. He was the son of the late James and Mary Koehler and was the youngest of three siblings.

He graduated from Wichita High School East in 1970 and later attended Wichita State University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. After completing his education, John embarked on a successful career in finance, working for several prominent firms in the area. His dedication, hard work, and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients alike. John was known for his sharp mind, keen sense of responsibility, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Outside of his professional life, John was a devoted family man. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda (Smith) Koehler, in 1973, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and joy. John was a proud father to two children, Michael and Sarah, and a doting grandfather to three grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with his family and was a constant source of support and guidance. John had a passion for community service and was actively involved in various charitable organizations throughout his life.

He believed in giving back to the community that had given him so much and worked tirelessly to make Wichita a better place for everyone. He was particularly passionate about education and was a longtime supporter of local schools and youth programs. In his free time, John enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for nature and often took family trips to explore the beautiful landscapes of Kansas and beyond. His adventurous spirit and love for life were infectious, and he inspired those around him to live fully and cherish every moment.

John’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering positive outlook on life left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. He was a man of integrity, humility, and compassion, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the Wichita community. John is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Michael (and his wife, Emily) and Sarah (and her husband, David); his grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, and Olivia; his brother, Robert; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary, and his sister, Jane.

A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held on July 29, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Wichita. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wichita Public Schools Foundation, an organization close to John’s heart. John Koehler’s passing is a profound loss to all who knew him, but his memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
