Tim McInerney Needham MA Obituary, Death: Beloved husband and father died by cancer

Tim McInerney Needham MA Obituary, Death: Beloved husband and father died by cancer: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy J. McInerney Jr., who peacefully departed this world on July 20, 2024, at home, with his beloved wife, Courtney, holding his hand. Tim bravely fought a courageous battle against Stage Four Colon Cancer, and his final moments were surrounded by the love and support of his family.

Timothy was born on January 12, 1978, in Natick, Massachusetts. He grew up in Needham, where he attended Needham High School and graduated with the Class of 1996. Following high school, Tim pursued his passion for the electrical trade at Mount Ida College, where he completed an electrical program that would shape the course of his career. For over 25 years, Tim worked alongside his father at Wellesley Electrical Supply, a family business where he learned the values of hard work, dedication, and integrity. Even after the family business was sold, Tim continued to contribute to the electrical industry with the same commitment and enthusiasm. In 2023, Tim embraced a new role as the Director of Facilities at Craft Food Halls, a position that allowed him to work alongside his wife, sister, and many dear friends.

Tim’s greatest joy in life came from his family. He was the cherished husband of Courtney and the devoted father to their son, Andrew John. He also leaves behind his beloved children, Brianne, Erin, and Shane, as well as his sweet granddaughter, Alexis Manken. Tim’s family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

In the days leading up to his passing, Tim was surrounded by the unwavering love of his parents, Tim and Linda McInerney, and his supportive sister, Joanna Payne, and her husband, William Payne Jr. He was also lovingly accompanied by his nephews, Devyn and Brayden. Tim’s in-laws—Jay and Janie Steeves, Maura Brady, Betty Brady, Mac Steeves, and Kayla Steeves and her fiancé, Alex Davey—were a source of immense support and comfort throughout his illness.

Tim is remembered fondly by numerous extended family members, including his grandmother, several aunts and uncles, a special group of cousins, and countless friends. He is predeceased by his loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends who will always hold a special place in his memory.

Timothy was known for his infectious laughter, warm smile, and his genuine love for life. He found joy in simple pleasures: spending time with family, golfing, sitting around a fire with friends while listening to his favorite music, hosting garage parties, and playing games with his children and nephews. His ability to make everyone around him feel valued and loved was a testament to his character and the deep connections he forged with those around him.

A visitation to honor Tim’s life will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home, located at 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham. A Memorial Service will follow on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at The Dover Church, 17 Springdale Avenue, Dover. Interment will be private.

As we mourn the loss of Timothy J. McInerney Jr., we also celebrate the incredible life he lived—a life marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing him.
