Patrick A. Nielson Utah Obituary, Salt Lake City, UT Man died by cancer on July 20: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Winn Nielson, who left this earthly life on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at LDS Hospital due to complications from his courageous ten-and-a-half-year battle with non-smoking lung cancer. Surrounded by his loving family, Pat’s final moments were a testament to the deep love and unwavering support that defined his life.

Born on October 24, 1968, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Max and Christine Nielson, Pat grew up in a large and affectionate family in Bountiful, Utah. As the second of seven children, Pat was known for his loyalty, integrity, and strength. He was admired for his many accomplishments, from benching 350 pounds and excelling in wrestling to coaching his younger brothers and winning the ‘favorite uncle’ award for his generous spirit. Pat’s life was full of vibrant experiences that created lasting memories for his family and friends.

Pat’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. After graduating from Bountiful High School, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scotland. This time away from home was transformative, teaching him valuable lessons about perseverance and faith. Following his mission, Pat earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Utah and began a fulfilling career at Zions National Bank. While he was known for his exceptional financial skills, it was his enduring friendships and positive attitude that truly defined his professional life.

Pat’s greatest adventure began when he met Jennifer Lambert on a blind date. Their love story blossomed, leading to a beautiful marriage on June 21, 2005, in the Salt Lake Temple. Pat found immense joy in his role as a father to Joshua, Morgan, and Jaxon. He was incredibly proud of his children, celebrating each of their achievements and cherishing the time they spent together. From his pride in Josh’s academic successes to the silent communication he shared with Morgan and the miraculous joy of Jaxon’s presence, Pat’s love for his family was evident in all he did.

Over the past ten years, despite the challenges of his illness, Pat lived life to the fullest. He and Jen created a lifetime of memories through travel, time at the cabin, summers on the lake, and countless family gatherings. Pat faced his illness with remarkable resolve and optimism, never letting his pain or discomfort hinder his love for life and family.

Pat is survived by his devoted wife, Jen; his beloved children, Josh, Morgan, and Jaxon; his parents, Max and Christine; and his siblings, Curt (Lisa), Darren (Bessy), Shaun (Marci), Angela (David), Mike (Shandee), and Matt (Brook). He is also survived by 27 nieces and nephews, as well as his in-laws, Rod and Karen Lambert, Jon, Erin (Danny), Taylor, Tyson (Sydney), and 5 nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held for family and friends on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, located at 1941 N. Main, Farmington, Utah. The funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Kaysville Utah Haight Creek Stake Center, 1520 S Fox Pointe Drive, Kaysville, Utah. Prior to the funeral, there will be a gathering from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Relief Society Room at the same location. Following the services, Pat will be interred at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.

As we grieve the loss of Pat, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived and the countless ways he touched the hearts of those around him. His legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.
