Lockdown lifted at Joint Base Pearl Harbor after suspicious package found: The lockdown at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) has been lifted after a thorough investigation determined there was no immediate threat to the base’s personnel or operations. The lockdown, which began earlier today, was prompted by the discovery of a suspicious package at Building 1102.
A base spokesperson confirmed the all-clear status just before 10 a.m. local time, stating, “There was a possible security concern – so base went into lockdown per standard operating procedure. No threats and base is now open – all clear.” This statement marked the end of the lockdown that had been implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of everyone on base.
In response to the situation, a message was sent to all base personnel, which read:
“BASE IS ON LOCKDOWN! THIS IS NOT AN EXERCISE! AVOID TRAFFIC GOING TO HICKAM BASE”
The discovery of the suspicious package led to immediate safety protocols, including the evacuation of Building 1102 and the establishment of a 2,250-foot security perimeter around the building. During this period, base gates were closed, and traffic to Hickam Base was restricted as emergency personnel worked to resolve the situation.
Following a thorough examination, officials have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat, and normal operations at the base have resumed. Personnel are advised to follow all standard procedures as operations return to normal and to stay updated through official base communications.
