According to Tacoma police, a potential suspect in the fatal shooting close to Emerald Queen Casino has come forward, but as of Tuesday, he was not in custody. In the 2000 block of East 28th Street, close to the casino’s staff parking lot, there was gunfire on Monday night at around eight o’clock.

On Monday, a man was shot and killed in Tacoma, close to the Emerald Queen Casino and Interstate 5. It all started as an argument. Nearly eight o’clock in the evening, the man was shot on the 2000 block of East 28th Street. Following attempts at life-saving techniques by Tacoma police and fire department officials, he passed away from his wounds, according to The News Tribune. Earlier that day, the man and the suspected shooter had spoken at a different Tacoma site. According to Tacoma Police Department detective William Muse, it turned into a fight, and the man was followed by the alleged gunman in his car until they got to East 28th Street on Wednesday.

The man was shot by the gunman, according to Muse. The alleged shooter was later approached by police, at which point he hired counsel, gave a statement, and agreed to cooperate with the inquiry. The Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office will get the case. The victim and the alleged gunman, according to Muse, were not strangers.
