Michael Cline, Fandango Founder died by Suicide after jumping from a five-star hotel in New York
It has come to light that the individual who killed themselves earlier this week by leaping from a five-star hotel in New York City was a successful co-founder of the movie ticket business Fandango, which had collapsed following COVID-19 and never fully recovered. The 64-year-old “serial entrepreneur” and father of six from Greenwich, Connecticut, J. Michael Cline, fell Tuesday morning from The Kimberly Hotel’s 20th level and landed in a third-floor courtyard, according to police sources. The boutique hotel has 154 spacious luxury suites, most of which have private balconies, based on reports.

It has been confirmed by some sources that Cline, who was also a managing partner at the startup investment business Accretive, wrote what seems to be a suicide note after jumping from the building on East 50th Street near Lexington Avenue. The contents of the suicide note are yet unknown. Cline reportedly has multimillion-dollar properties in Palm Beach, Florida, and the Hamptons, including a sizable lakefront estate that he and his spouse paid $20.75 million for in December 2020, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.
