JPD cleared the house after entering it close to the 3000 block of Dayton (Fairview Addition), indicating that nothing dangerous was present. Police think that the phone call to E911 Dispatch that triggered the JPD reaction was made up.

Previous Information: On the east end of Jonesboro, close to the crossroads of Red Wolf and Highland, there is a noticeable police presence. According to police, there is a weapon-wielding, barricaded suspect in a house, according to JRN. According to JPD, a potential gunshot incident. It’s unknown if the house is occupied by anyone else. Currently, thru traffic is prohibited throughout the Fairview Addition community, which includes Dayton, Fairview, Fairfield, Brazos, etc. The Hostage Negotiation Team is responding, as are the Police, Fire, and EMS departments.
