John Wessel has passed away suddenly. The longtime resident of Parma, OH was confirmed dead on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. He died causing a massive shockwave amongst all those who had the privilege of meeting him during the course of his life.  Friends, relatives, and neighbors who knew him for his warmth, humor, and steadfast generosity are greatly devastated by his passing. John was well-known in the Parma neighborhood for his commitment to his family and his participation in community affairs.

He loved to patronize neighborhood shops and was frequently spotted at get-togethers where he would laugh and tell tales to both old and new friends. John’s death has not been made public because we respect the family’s right to privacy during this trying time. But others who knew him have responded with sympathy and condolences, highlighting the profound effect he had on a great number of people’s lives.

It will be very difficult to fill the vacuum left by his absence from Parma. His devoted family, which consisted of his spouse, kids, and grandchildren, who constituted his entire universe, survives John Wessel. John will be remembered and his life celebrated at a memorial service that will take place on August 2, 2024, at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Parma.
