The four victims of an early Saturday morning mass shooting at a 21st birthday celebration in Florence are being remembered by the community. Seven people were shot at a house on Ridgecrest Drive just before three in the morning on Saturday, according to Florence Police Chief Jeff Mallery. Police stated on Saturday that all three of the individuals who were taken to the hospital are in “critical but stable condition.”

Mallery reported that the victims of the shooting were 44-year-old Melissa Parrett, 19-year-old Delaney Eary, 20-year-old Shane Miller, and 20-year-old Hayden Rybicki. Police were pursued by the suspect, 21-year-old Chase Garvey, until he shot himself, crashing his car. Mallery claimed Garvey passed away in the hospital.

According to the Florence Police Department, police were called to a house in Florence, Kentucky, at around three in the morning in response to allegations of a “active shooter.” According to the agency, seven persons with gunshot wounds were discovered at the scene.
Police said that four of the seven had been pronounced deceased at the spot.

They were named as 19-year-old Delaney Eary, 20-year-old Hayden Rybicki, 44-year-old Melissa Parret, and 20-year-old Shane Miller by Florence Police Chief Jeff Mallery. Three more people are still in the hospital. Mallery stated that they should recover. Mallery named the lone suspect shooter as Chase Garvey, 21, who drove away from the scene, but according to police, they “quickly” located his car.
